Congratulations to Rohith (violin) on earning top marks at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble contest in Austin with the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor! Rohith recently performed in the TMEA All-State Orchestra (following Region & Area acceptances) and is concertmaster and president of the Dulles HS Orchestra.
Congratulations to Sohum (viola) on the debut performance of his latest composition (Counting the Stars) with the Travis HS Orchestra (with Sohum conducting)! This is the second year Travis HS has featured an orchestral work by Sohum. Last week, Sohum earned top marks at the State Solo & Ensemble contest with Schumann’s Märchenbilder. Sohum is the Librarian for the Travis HS Orchestra.
Congratulations to Sophia K. (violin) for her acceptance to the American Festival for the Arts (AFA) and also for earning top marks at MS Solo & Ensemble with her performance of the Monti Csárdás! The Monti is a studio tradition and we love hearing Sophia perform it.
Recent studio speaking engagements include a guest lecture with the Suzuki Association of Indiana (SAI), a talk for parents and teachers in collaboration with the Suzuki Association of Washington State (SAWS), sectional coaching at Redmond HS (viola) and Ben Franklin Elementary School (violin), and LHS’ annual collaboration with Dr. Lisa Caravan and the Eastman School of Music Pedagogy Department.
